As a wide eyed child I watched my father pull our of the farm yard. He had my two oldest brothers with him in a single cab, 2 wheel drive pick up. In tow was our families worldly posessions. As a wide eyed child I watched my father pull our of the farm yard. He had my two oldest brothers with him in a single cab, 2 wheel drive pick up. In tow was our families worldly posessions. Our tricycles atually tied off on the exterior of the horse trailer, swinging as Dad manuvered down the dirt road. A few short months later my mother and four children boarded an airplane on our journey to meet thin at our new home in - ALASKA!
We were no poineers but my father was a man on a mission; a man with a dream and passion. I soon found out I was along for much more then the wild ride.
As we grew up without relatives close by we became very self reliant. Our friendships strong, relationships solid, struggles real, patience required.
God always at our side.
I love Alaska for the place it is, the values it shapes, and the character it grinds. THe lessons I continue to learn and the person I have become are shaped by the hand of God which is so obvious in this rugged land.
